RENAN ESTIVAN

Renan Estivan (b. 1994, Brazil) is a multidisciplinary designer and textile artist based in São Paulo. His work explores the materiality of thread as a medium for artistic expression through tapestries, embroidery, and other textile experiments.
A graduate in Design from UNESP (2017), he began his career in Salvador, where he worked as an art director and initiated his research in textile art. Since 2020, he has focused on creating original textile pieces that reflect on the male body and its poetic and erotic expressions, engaging with themes such as gender performance, identity, and the intersection of craft and conceptual art.
Influenced by artists like Kennedy Bahia, Rubico, and Alair Gomes, Estivan employs techniques such as contemporary embroidery and tufting gun to construct visual narratives that navigate between the intimate and the collective. His practice is also marked by an active presence on social media, where he shares his process and expands the reach of his work.
His creations have gained international recognition and are part of private collections in countries such as the United States, Australia, the Netherlands, and Singapore. His work has been exhibited in Brazil and abroad, reaffirming textile art as a powerful, sensitive, and contemporary language.
